Help me give my students with disabilities extra support in the classroom by providing the Amazon tablet it will help my students with disabilities to work on different social and emotional apps by applying the technology aspect!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I work in a low income area with students who have a variety of different disabilities. Many of them struggle with social and emotional learning aspects in the classroom. The students I also work with suffer from trauma and struggle maintaining different emotions. I plan on doing small groups with my students using the emotional books in my cart! The group will help to identify the different emotions that my students struggle with and to also work together to create different coping skills with my students.
By having my students in the group setting it can also help to support my students in a social setting and work on increasing their social skills.
Many of my students also struggle with sensory needs in the classroom. By giving my students fidgets, headphones and kick bands it will help benefit my students by allowing them to support their sensory needs while allowing them to participate to the best of their abilities in class! Many of my students also enjoy using technology. There are a variety of different social and emotional apps that I want to introduce for my students to use in my one on one sessions. My projects goal is to introduce different materials that my students do not get the opportunity to use at home while also supporting their variety of needs to help them succeed in the classroom!
