My Students
I love the pride that students at our school take in their school. The student body is very diverse. I taught in other schools where the student body was diverse, but what is so unique about this school is that the students truly interact with each other and are friends. It's not just a label of diversity, they set an example that adults could learn from.
My Project
I teach AP US History and American Civilizations (Concurrent Enrollment). The primary sources, books, and games that are contained within this project will aid student understanding as they work on grasping the complexity of United States History.
Being able to effectively dissect and work with primary sources has been the most beneficial way that I have seen students best come a balanced and informed understanding of our collective history.
When students are able to step away from technology and look at printed documents and other resources, I have noticed that they remember better and gain strong sense of confidence than they would have just working with their electronic devices.
