Help me give my students a Zoom Digital Audio Workstation and an electric drum set to give them the experience of an authentic studio recording environment!

My Students

I live for students' lightbulb moments! Students look forward to my classes because they get hands-on experience that they might not get otherwise.

When students get to try unique things in my classes, it exposes them to an interest they never even knew they had.

In my TV Broadcast class, students get the real world experience of working in a news studio like you see on TV. In Video Production, students get to plan, film and edit their own movies. As high school students, they are getting experience that most professionals didn't get until they were well into their college film and journalism degrees.

My Project

Students love my classes because they get to try unique things that are completely new to them. They get hands-on experience with things they wouldn't get otherwise. In my Video Production class, they get to use professional cameras, microphones and other filming gear. It sparks their creativity to create awesome content.

My class often sparks an interest they never even knew they had.

Having hands-on activities in a studio allows them to become more self-confident and explore new creative possibilities. I have wanted to focus on getting students to create more voiceovers and music in my classroom studio, and a Digital Audio Workstation is a necessary piece for students to start creating music on their own. An electric drum set will be one of the instruments that students can use to express their creative talents. I also plan to get other instruments for kids to create music with in the future. This creative process is a unique form of digital literacy that students desire.
