Students' Coffee Cafe to Benefit Our Food Pantry

Help me give my students coffee pods, creamers, sugars, cups w/lids and straws, to start the first ever Coffee Cafe run by students.

My Project

Through this project, I will guide students to see the world through the eyes of their peers facing food insecurity. Our school has about 45% population of students who are facing food insecurities. Utilizing storytelling and discussions, they will develop empathy and understanding of hunger's impact. Being homeless is a horrible thing to deal with, but being homeless and trying to be in school and get an education is even harder. We have so many students who go back and forth between shelters and short-term rental homes or hotels it's unbelievable. We also have a huge homeless population in our area.

Our girl's group, Diamond and Pearls, wants to sell coffee to raise money to donate to our school's Food Pantry, which provides food to those who cannot afford it, like the homeless at our school.

These materials will be used for my students to start a coffee cart business. They will use this cart to sell coffee. Students have been meeting to discuss the price of the items they are selling as well as who will be responsible for making the items. Students have designed a flyer to post throughout the school to inform everyone of our fundraisers. Through this activity, they will learn to make change, socialize, and have fun as a class.

The requested materials will help students take the initiative by providing them with the needed materials to make coffee to sell to raise the money to donate. Please consider helping us be able to give back to our community
