Students are NOT Given PPE Supplies from DOE: Save Kids.
Help me give my students masks, cleaning supplies, and PPE supplies to stay safe at school. The Department of Education and the Government are NOT giving students basic safety needs. We need your help to stay safe.
My students are here to learn! They love coming to school and have missed being apart of the in-person school community.
My students want to feel safe and be safe at school.
They picked up remote learning quickly and ran with it. But there is nothing that can replace in person learning. They are energetic, persistent, and hard working.
Our school in Central Harlem, is more than an educational institute. It is a home. We provide for a drastically underserved population of students. We are their community, their support, and their home away from home. It is truly a pleasure to work with these children. They are talented, persistent, intelligent young people. Their young minds blow me away everyday.
It would break my heart to lose one of them and I worry that we will do so if we don't make our school safe against this pandemic.
My Project
The Department of Education(DOE), the City, and the State are not providing us with masks, cleaning supplies, gloves, sneeze guards, thermometers, etc. they require us to have for a safe reopening.
The DOE expect teachers to pay for BASIC safety needs for our entire class.
Without your support we can not afford to keep our students safe.
We need:
Masks (At least 10 per student)
Disinfectant (during school hours cleaning)
Paper towels(To save on wipes for during school hours cleaning)
Sneeze guards (Extra Protection)
Sanitary bags (To keep supplies sanitary)
Help us make our classrooms safe for students. These supplies will allow them to not only be safe, but feel safe. No student should be scared to go to school, or feel they can not go to school because they don't have the supplies to maintain their health. This time is not easy for anyone, please help a child continue their education from a classroom, rather than a hospital room.
