Help me give my students plant stands and grow lights to grow seedlings and keep plants in the classroom to improve air quality.

My Project

I am so excited that my plant project was fully funded, and I can’t wait to start growing plants with my students. Unfortunately, I do not think that my tiny classroom window will supply enough sunlight to grow plants for all the students. I am collaborating with another teacher who does not have a window at all, so we will need grow lights to keep our classroom plants healthy and help students grow their seedlings. The 6-tier shelf will be used to grow seedlings and students will be responsible for watering their plants. Once the seedlings have grown to where they can be safely planted, students will take them home and can start a new seedling.

The display rack will house the larger classroom plants such as the mature spider plants that will be used for cutting.

We plan to have spider plants, snake plants, and aloe plants because in combination these three plants have been proven to significantly improve air quality. Plants have also been shown to have a calming influence and help students feel more peaceful. We hope that you will help us create a better classroom environment with cleaner air.
