Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The headphones and large whiteboard will help my students working after school in our online credit recovery program.

Students in my middle school (grades 6-8) are invited to participate in a credit recovery program (Heskett Extended Learning Program- HELP) when they are failing a core content area course.

The program is held after school and utilizes an online learning platform to help students go over the course content that they did not master. Since the program is online, students listen to and watch online lessons that require audio. Every student is on a different path, so headphones are necessary for maximum performance and privacy.

The large whiteboard will enable our teachers to conduct small group and individual mini-lessons to support students during their learning sessions.
