As I move to a different grade and classroom, I am looking to support my students in easily accessible materials. I want my students to be able to replace supplies timely and have the opportunity to use a variety of tools while learning. These supplies are crayons, colored pencils, erasers, and markers. I also need effective storage to keep these supplies readily available and student friendly. For this I’ll need individual student organizers, which will teach them responsibility, and mass storage I can label and students can be responsible with taking care of their supplies. Along with these supplies, I have found that a crayon sharpener would prove beneficial to prolong the lifespan of these crayons.
I will also be transitioning to using tables instead of desks.
To make this change of dynamic work, my plan is to use chair pockets to hold larger items and then a table caddy to hold community supplies. This will teach kids the importance of sharing and treating tools with respect.
Another important detail of moving to a younger grade is that I want to be more mobile and closer to my students. Having a standing desk on wheels will allow me access to my computer equipment while also working with students at desks and near the rug.
