Our school is a very diverse population with about thirty percentof the student body is African American, Caucasian and Hispanic. All students are bused. All the student are eligible for free lunch. The referendum for an increase in taxes was denied by the voters. The school budget was reduced from 85k to 30k. We have been told that we should go onto this website for simple requests such as paper and other supplies. I been a science teacher for over twenty years in the Philadelphia School District. I came to Gauge-Cobb to teach STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering Art and Math) and finally, teach beyond the school district curriculum.
I am looking for funds to purchase materials for a student printer/ scanner.
The student will use the printer/scanner to create a portfolio for their projects. Every student at Gauger-Cobb Middle School has a Chromebook to do various online programs. However, student do not have access to use the school printers or scanner. I am asking for a printer/scanner to allow student to create professional looking portfolios for presenting their projects.
Student will use the printer to create a portfolio for every project that they complete in my STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Class. Student use the Engineering Design Process step by step to create their prototype. The prototype are design to be solutions to current society issues. During the process, student create a portfolios as part of their presentation. They will make professional style portfolios which will include the following deliverables;
Title Page, Job Duties, Group Contract, Design Brief, Research, Brainstorming ideas, Decision Matric, Instructions, Status Report, Test, Reflection Questions, Peer evaluations
