My Project

Our school started Student Learning Communities last year, which gave 4th and 5th grade students a chance to choose a Special Area (Art/Music, Library, PE, STEAM) for a special unit four times a year. This year, we are expanding this program to include 3rd grade.

My older students love doing 3x3 Rubik's cubes in our library and I want to give our 3rd graders a start with the 2x2 cubes as well, since many of that grade have shown interest but aren't quite ready for the 3x3s.

With this project, students who choose the Rubik's Cube Library Student Learning Communities unit would have exclusive access to their own cube to continue their progress day-to-day throughout the unit and during the remainder of the year, without limiting other students' access to the 3x3s we already have for mosaic creation and free play.
