My Project

I am teaching in an inclusion class, and that means providing diverse pathways for learning. The requested items are essential for facilitating multi-sensory learning experiences, ensuring every student can process information, build confidence, and access the curriculum effectively.

The book rack will be used to display books where my students will be able to easily see the titles to reread stories we covered in class.

The portable display boards will be used around the room to “build a thinking classroom” where my students can show their thinking and learn from each other.

The aprons will be used for art projects, but their primary purpose is to act as mobile learning vests. This will allow students to keep their math manipulatives and expo markers with them as they constantly move between groups and learning stations. This streamlines transitions and supports work for students who benefit from having their tools close at hand.

SEL books are always encouraged to build character in our class! We are always reading them throughout the quarter. Plastic trays will be used to help build math concepts such as part-part-whole when we do number bonds. Students can use the plastic trays to compartmentalize the different parts in order to solve problems.

The hero capes will be part of our culminating end-of-year celebration where the students feel proud of their learning and reflect on their year as heroes to showcase to their families and staff members.

Ultimately, this project is about making every student feel engaged, valued, and empowered to actively lead their own learning journey. By making learning tangible and joyful, we are not just teaching subjects; we are helping them to discover a lifelong passion for learning. The resources will directly increase student literacy, deepen conceptual understanding in math, and drive total participation and success for all learners!

Mrs. Takamura-Luu will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by January 31.
