This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Striving to Stay Fresh and Clean for School will be the safety theme that I have focused on during the school year with my students. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began several of the students that I serve have endured numerous hardships ranging from death to homelessness. To ease this burden of worry from my students, I want to be able to provide them with toiletries they need to stay safe and clean.

Knowing that your body is clean because you have soap and deodorant to use, washing detergent to wash your clothes and a sanitized learning environment, helps to encourage a positive attitude, which in turn will make my students feel good about themselves.

When my students feel good about themselves they perform better in school and are more engaged in school activities. Cleanliness is something many people take for granted, but this is something that the students I serve don't. That is why I desperately need your help so I can provide toiletries for my students to use at school and home, so that they can maintain cleanliness, especially during this time when we are trying to prevent the passing of a deadly virus to each other. Please help us obtain hand wash, underwear, deodorant, soap, leggings, and toothpaste.

Mrs. Pickett-Moreland will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 26.
