This project has made a profound difference not only in their day-to-day comfort but also in their sense of dignity, participation in school, and overall confidence. The new resources are being used daily through our confidential care closet, a small but thoughtfully organized space where students can come and pick up items discreetly whenever they need them. I have been able to create individually prepared kits so that students know they have something readily available.\r\n One of the most memorable moments occurred in the very week we finished setting up the shelves and organizing the product bins. A group of tenth-grade girls came by after hearing that the care closet had been restocked. Their faces lit up when they saw the neatly arranged hygiene kits, complete with deodorant, feminine products, body wash, lotion, and other essentials we were never able to consistently provide before this grant. One student hesitated at the door, and when I encouraged her to come in, she whispered, \"I've been so scared to ask for help.\" When she saw that the kits were made specially for students like her and that she could take what she needed without question, she smiled in a way that instantly reminded all of us why this project matters. She later told me that having access to these items made her feel \"normal again,\" a small phrase that carried enormous weight.\r\n For many of our students, especially those dealing with financial insecurity at home, this project offers relief from a quiet but significant source of stress. Students who previously missed class or went home early due to a lack of hygiene resources now feel empowered to stay in school because they know support is available. Teachers have already noticed a shift: girls who once avoided participating in physical activities due to anxiety about personal care have become more engaged, and attendance has noticeably improved among some of our most vulnerable students. These are changes that may not seem large on the surface but are deeply felt within the classroom community.\r\n Our donors' support has also opened the door for conversations about self-care, health, and emotional well-being. We recently started a small group series called \"Confident, Capable, and Caring\", in which we help students learn about personal hygiene, self-advocacy, healthy habits, and the importance of taking care of their bodies. The hygiene kits provided through this project serve as the foundation for these sessions, allowing students to practice with the items they now have access to.\r\n Looking ahead, our next steps involve expanding this initiative to serve even more students. We plan to continue building the care closet and introduce student leaders who will help maintain the space, organize inventory, and ensure their peers feel comfortable using it. We are also preparing to integrate lessons on wellness, health literacy, and adolescence into our advisory classes. \r\n Thanks to donors like you, our students not only have the supplies they need they also have a reliable, stigma-free support system that encourages them to show up, learn, and believe in themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1755729386773,"projectUrl":"project/urgent-please-help-my-teenage-girls-get/9334106/","projectTitle":"Urgent!
