Strings/Orchestra Project

My students need nine guitars for our beginning guitar class to have a class set, as well as a gong, bell set, mallets, and books.

This project is fully funded

My Students

Our students are hard working teenagers who explore their passion through a variety of Arts projects. They are awesome young people who are partnering with the community for support in their Performing Arts Education.

One students persevere through some of the most rigorous academic schedules this side of education, and they still find time to enjoy the beauty and fulfillment of music making in our school.

Our students deserve the best that we have to offer in the performing arts.

My Project

We are currently asking donations of guitar and orchestral performance items to have enough instruments for students to use in class and other communities performances for students to enjoy and grow as musicians. We want to be one of the musically competing programs that prepares students for college auditions and gives them performing opportunities that they may not have had with out this program.

Students work in a collaborative groups to discuss ideas and plans to implement a successfully identify music notation and use this knowledge to learn how to play a guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments.

Our students in Beginning guitar is designed for students 9th through 12 grade who have no previous experience. Students will perform a variety orchestral and solo guitar literature from levels 1. Also, students will study music theory as it relates to the technical training associated with guitar performance practices.

Our students develop their musical skills through listening, reading, writing, singing, and performing. Every week throughout the school year, students use these instruments to learn the following objectives in the strings/guitar content area: posture hand positions, tone quality, intonation, style, repertoire knowledge, syncopation rhythm, vocabulary, dynamics, balance/blend, phrasing and music theory.
