Every year as teachers we get the opportunity to inspire and guide students to greatness. We nudge them out of their comfort zones and encourage them to see the Awesomeness inside themselves, that we, their teachers, see from the beginning! This semester I would like my art students to step out of the box and create string nail art! Every student is capable of success! They just need the right atmosphere with adults that believe in them and what they can achieve!
String nail art is very much like life, the twists and turns of the strings around the nails are like the choices and turns we choose to make in our lives. Students will create a string art that represents part of their life with the string and various supplies that will be provided by our DonorChoose Friends.
Students will watch a powerpoint and a video on how to create a string nail art project before beginning the project.
Then students will make 2 sketches of their designs, then they will transfer it to the wood. Third, they will begin hammering the nails on the outline of the design. Then students will begin filling in the design with the thread. The more thread in the design the more the design will pop forward from the wooden board.
As we make choices and take turns in life we are creating our path for the journey of life.
