Most of my students are from urban areas. They have chosen to attend our public charter school, to be a part of a school whose mission surrounds leadership, rhetoric, entrepreneurship, and debate, in a class model, with twenty-first-century skills. As we are uncertain about the opening of school, we are looking towards ways to build community while still socially distancing to prepare for the upcoming academic year.
Our school receives one-third of the funding of traditional public schools in our area of the state as a public charter school.
As a small startup in only its 6th year, we often do not have the budget to be able to get the materials for our student's interests as we try to cater to their interests and diverse learning needs.
My Project
As we head into uncertain times with COVID-19 we are trying to prepare for all possible scenarios. Having the necessary equipment for learning remotely as well in the classroom will give my students to best possible learning that I can give them for this academic year and more in the following years.
As we all know that a healthy body and healthy mind is something that we all serve for and that is why I am asking to help support my students in order to give them that healthy feeling that they need.
When we are in school all day we need something for us to get our mind off the everyday issues we have and clear the mind so that's can get back to a "normal routine".
