Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our class is a mixture of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. I have three students full-time in my class, they are my specials. I give assistance and support to 28 other students in my class. Some only come in once a day others are in more times a day, depending on their needs and accommodations.

Having the stress balls and fidgets allows us to have students working on an item and not feeling their anxiety climbing because they are having to wait on their turn while I continue to help other students.

Having stress balls this year was great help, however they are looking pretty rough and I did have to throw some away.

By donating to our project you will be helping many students in our class and our school.

I have a student who is visually impaired and requires assistance with his work at all time. I found out that when I print his work on 11X17 paper he works more on his work and not on trying to read his paper. I now make everything for him bigger so that he does not struggle as much. For this reason I am asking for the magnifying sheets and the 11X17 printer paper, along with the Expo markers. If I write on the board big enough and dark enough he is able to read it. I believe that if I tape a magnifying sheet over his computer screen he will be able to see the font bigger, something worth trying.

Lastly, I know that when you're hungry, there is no learning. I provide snacks to my students throughout the day, especially in the morning, some students do have breakfast.
