My Students

My school is a public charter school providing students (learners) in grades 6-8 a hands-on STEAM and project-based curriculum. We are the first school in the nation to be located right near an airport. We are located next to Wings Over the Rockies Exploration Of Flight at Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado. Our learners come from all over the Denver area, from Franktown to Aurora to Arvada and beyond. This diversity brings different perspectives to our classrooms. Some of our learners have been home-schooled and some are just looking for a different type of school and have found their home at CSA!

Our learners are creative thinkers and very excited about learning!

Our curriculum focuses on core academic competencies in addition to key focus areas that will prepare learners for promising careers in aerospace and technology.

In addition to academic excellence, we are committed to supporting learners’ development of emotional intelligence, life skills, and community engagement. Our teachers (facilitators) and care team members are devoted to providing learners with the best academic and emotional support by way of small class sizes and individualized attention.

My Project

This 30 student set will allow learners to experiment with Flow, Block/Scratch, and Text programming to build creations that light up, move, and more. All materials are reusable – students can finish building, disassemble, and begin a new project. Contains 200 construction straws, 100 connectors, feet, eyes, programmable Quirkbot, servo motor, LEDs, light sensor, and alligator clips.

Strawbees encourage experimentation; kids can combine pieces to create hinges and moveable joints or combine with other materials like cardboard or twine.

Kids can practice problem-solving skills through building and modifying increasingly complex structures. Strawbees kits are designed to be completely open-ended, offering possibilities as limitless as your child’s imagination.
