My Students

My students in southwestern Maine make me proud! They are amazing, brave and resilient. As the Covid pandemic continues, they often attend school intermittently, stressed by interruptions, illness and anxiety about loved ones. All are striving to overcome situations that demand creativity and stick-to-it-ness.

My Project

My students will be using these supplies to make their own roll-up chess boards for home use, draw a group sculpture from observation and sharpen their thinking in 3D games that are visual as well as logical and sequential. Making unique family chess boards and pieces will allow students to explore the game of Chess even if they are quarantined and isolated from school.

This collection of art supplies, strategy games such as Rush Hour, materials for making Chess boards and the Gravity Maze game will help students learn STEM and Social Studies topics in intriguing ways.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
