I have a wonderful group of 5th graders who are eager to learn. We are a very diverse classroom comprised of English language learners and students with diverse learning styles. They strive to do their personal best each and every day. In my school and within my classroom, we respect hard work and most importantly, being kind to one another. The children are amazing and talented. As a teacher, my goal is to teach them every skill to have them reach their full potential, all while smiling, instituting kindness and being excited to learn.
This project is for student subscriptions to Scholastic Storyworks magazine, which is an ELA magazine, designed for grades 3-5. As a teacher of children with diverse learning styles and English Language learners, Storyworks magazine is essential. This magazine is engaging and uses a variety of ELA reading strategies that enhance the curriculum. It offers differentiated instruction in order to reach the needs all learners. Within each Storyworks magazine, there is a wide range of genres and rigorous activities which encourage cooperative group work. It is also aligned with the Common Core Standards in order for my students to be successful.
