My Students
At our school, our students are the best of the best. Coming from a variety of backgrounds, students work together to create a caring school culture focused on safety, respect, enthusiasm, acceptance, and responsibility.

My Project
I was first introduced to Scholastic Storyworks several years ago when a coworker allowed me to preview magazines that she received through her subscription. I automatically fell in love. Why? My students were so engaged in reading. Storyworks is a literacy based classroom magazine which provides a variety of dynamic English Language Arts resources. Storyworks is standards based and provides students with not only exciting complex texts, but also a variety of support materials to aid in comprehension. One of the most exciting features is the online materials. These materials include videos to accompany reading and lower leveled articles for students who need more support.
If I am so blessed to have this resource in my classroom my third graders will be provided with high interest, leveled reading materials for an entire school year.
Reading will connect to science and social studies concepts and also integrate meaningful writing activities. By utilizing subscriptions to Storyworks and Storyworks Jr., I will have the ability to reach ALL of the learners in my classroom.
