Storytelling For Little Ones

My students need a Lakeshore Storytelling Kit and Storytelling Easel.

I teach pre- k and am trying to re-stock the classroom after Katrina. The students love to see stories as well as hear them. Our school is just recovering and we are in temporary buildings.

We are trying to get back some things that were lost in the storm after the wind blew the roof off of the school. The felt board and stories are something that the class would enjoy. They learn a lot from reading books and re telling the stories.

The felt board and stories will help the students visualize the sequence of events in a book. They seem to remember the stories if they also see them. Literacy skills and memory skills can be worked on by visualizing the stories.

Your help in getting these supplies will enhance the student's learning. They already know the Brown Bear story and I'm sure they will enjoy the other ones. Every day we read a story together and then they will be able to use the felt board to retell the stories. This helps with literacy skills and memory skills. The books are all favorites of my students During center time they will be able to use the felt board and books to tell the stories to their friends.
