My students need new books and materials for our reader's and writer's workshop lessons, as well as a clean, comfortable rug to sit on during our mini-lessons and story time.

My Students

I am a dedicated teacher in an urban school district. My goal is to develop lessons for my students that are engaging and interactive. I have made it my purpose to help create a classroom that is bright, welcoming and safe.

My students may be young but they are so eager to learn.

They deserve the opportunity to have new and fun books, materials and a clean environment to spend their day in. It is amazing to watch them grow and learn throughout the school year!

My Project

All of the books listed will allow me to build a new classroom library for my students. These books will provide my students with awesome resources to help engage and create interactive lessons. Classic books like "The Napping House", "Where the Wild Things Are", and "Make Way for Duckling", support our literacy curriculum and allow students to learn about story structure, setting, sequencing and so much more. Books listed like, "The Hat" and "Thunder Cake" are stories that I grew up with as a child. I am looking forward to being able to build a classroom library with stories that I love and can share with my young learners. These books will be used as mentor texts to support our Reader's and Writer's Workshop program.

Reading books aloud in class allows opportunity for students to stimulate intellectual conversations with their peers.

Books open a student's mind and influences their creativity and imagination. By providing new and exciting books, along with a clean, comfortable classroom carpet for everyone to sit, will provide a welcoming and safe learning space for these eager minds.
