My Students

This year is like no other! Kids are back, but 2020-2021 really created some hurdles. I am a reading specialist in a middle school serving grades 6, 7, and 8. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, my intervention groups could not operate as they normally would, forcing me to travel throughout the school to provide individualized instruction. I did not have the opportunity to reach all of the students who needed extra help. Now that we are back to school, the students are falling behind and motivation needs a boost! This year poses many challenges, and I need some help!

My students are curious and they deserve reading materials that support and foster interest.

They crave stories about interesting characters that promote social-emotional well-being! They deserve to be engaged and challenged.

This year will be challenging, but the right supplies will help make everyone transition as easy as possible!

My Project

This book selection will help students practice literacy skills and foster lifelong reading habits.

Stories that make us smile help students with social-emotional learning while also building reading strategies.

A plot that students can laugh about, learn from, and engage with is important in a middle level classroom.

Students will be able to read Crash together in small groups, discuss the reading, and apply skills we practice together. Reading together is a great way to develop reading and writing strategies. We selected this book because of the strong main character and the quick moving plot. We know students will enjoy this talented author!
