Our school is located on a Native American Reservation. Most of my students come from generational poverty, which can bring trauma. Every year, I do my best to create a classroom family where each child feels safe, successful, and loved.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year! We celebrate little wins every day!
My Project
I have been trying to come up with a good way to organize my students' books and materials. In first grade, my students have tables instead of desks. Thus, making it a challenge for storing student supplies and materials.
To be efficient learners in a small classroom we must maximize our space and organization.
We have a lot of wonderful math and language arts games and activities in our classroom. My students take wonderful care of these games and activities. The only problem is over the years the boxes that the games came in are falling apart. The pieces of the games are falling out and getting lost. We need some storage bins to organize and protect our much loved math and language arts games. This will help these items last longer and be more easier for the students to grab and use. This would also help our classroom look clean. It would also get rid of distracting clutter.
This kind of storage would be great for making supplies and materials easy for them to access and use!
