My Students

I teach a fun and life changing group of students! My classroom consists of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They face many challenges in life and face them with a smile and a determination I only wish to attain. Each day is filled with laughs and smiles but also with tears and struggles. Together we work on daily social skills and academic skills to promote a higher level of understanding and ability level. These students see the world in a different way, and each student is truly a genius in their own way.

My Project

The materials I am hoping for are very important organizational tools my students are in need of to promote independence and comfort in the classroom. I am a teacher of a specialized unit for students with Autism. Students in my class enjoy organization and order. These storage crates will be used to give students their own area to place belongings they bring to school each day such as backpacks, jackets, and lunchboxes. My goal is to promote independence and ability levels by teaching students how to find their crate and place their belongings in their crate without adult assistance. These crates are the perfect size and will be a vital tool in our classroom each day.
