Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder require a wide range of choices and comfort in the classroom. The items in this project were chosen based on student preferences and needs. Items such as the area rug, mirror, and bean bags will help build a comfortable and engaging area to learn and increase social and academic skills. These items also build a safe area within the classroom where students can go to cool down or unwind when feeling upset or anxious. Items such as the wobble stools will give students the ability to move or rock safely while learning and staying engaged in daily instruction.
