Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am honored to teach 5th grade in a diverse community southeast of Atlanta. Our school is pursuing personalized education for all students. Our goal is to meet the students where they are on their learning journey and help them to become life-long learners.

All of my students are capable of learning and growing, but each in their own unique way.

I teach using a variety of hands-on, collaborative, and technology-based lessons. The students choose their path based on the way that they learn best. Thank you for considering our project and helping us on our learning journey.

My Project

Our classroom is in need of storage for our station materials. This storage cubby will allow my students to move through the stations at their own individual pace. The cubbies will be filled with math manipulatives, collaborative games, and independent activities. Students will be able to access the various materials when they are ready. The storage cubbies will also allow us to keep our classroom neat and organized for easy use.

Students also love to move around the room and work in various areas during our stations.

The tray seats will allow students to spread out on the floor, but will still allow an easy to use workspace for students to participate in their learning. They'll be able to use the tray to write, play collaborative math games, or for their Chromebooks.
