My Project

With 500 students in K-4th grade, and 900+ students total in our K-8th grade school, organization is not just important, it is survival. Classrooms need spaces to sort upcoming assignments, and a place for students to pick up graded work and important flyers. Having a command center with all our needed basics is essential.

This command center set-up will provide a central classroom location for materials, copies, and returned work to be separated by class and student, and will provide a spot for shared materials such as notebooks, glue sticks, and scissors to "live" and be easily accessible, returnable, and consistently able to be found by all learners.

Executive function, organization, predictability, routines, and habits are all learned and enforced by creating systems such as this command center spot, to allow students to learn how to care for and find needed materials and papers.
