Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from CT. They are part of a program that serves children who need intensive instruction. My classroom is a self-contained special education classroom with opportunities for integration in nearby rooms. My energetic preschoolers enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore.

They enjoy sensory activities, active play, and music throughout the day.

My students require small groups or 1:1 instruction to learn. The students enjoy moving around the classroom and engaging with materials. They love to learn!

My Project

The folders will be used for home/school communication. They are plastic so they should withstand the backpack and the back and forth between home and school. We write a daily note home and parents write back any pertaining information.

The plastic storage drawers will be used to store students' individualized instructional materials and manipulatives.

This provides staff and students easy access to these materials. Data is taken daily and materials are updated on a weekly basis based on student performance.

These items will help increase effective instruction as well as home-school communication.
