The cube is situated in a quiet location in the classroom, closed off from busier activities and centers. Students can come to the cube when they are feeling a certain emotion to help them calm down and have some quiet time. We have incorporated feelings puppets, sensory fidgets, books, a pillow and visuals that the students can use while in the cozy cube. Recently we used the card stock and glue and tissue paper to create fall apples to align with our fall/apples theme. We now don't have to worry about glue sticks falling apart and we know there is enough for everyone!\r\nThe kinetic sand has been amazing to add to our centers rotation. They have been an amazing addition to our fine motor section during center time. They are requested daily since receiving them! The two favorites are the hedgehog and dinosaur. Students are working on fine motor skills and counting and color identification. Another favorite is the cactus. The students also get to work on number identification. The \"blue chair\" has been a great addition to our calm down corner. The students can be free to move their bodies as they sit and use the calm down and feelings items available to them. We have also used it in the classroom to help a student at circle time.\r\nThe leaf chairs are so fun! Students have used them in the library center and while on the carpet playing games.
