Stop Motion Animators Need Supplies!

My students need modeling clay, armature wire, tripods and other supplies to create stop motion animation films.

My Students

Our school library is a wonderful resource. My students love coming to the library during class and independently during lunch, because they love the calm environment, the academic resources, and the fun activities that take place there.

We are a diverse, Title I middle school in Brooklyn, New York.

Many students are first-generation immigrants and speak English as a second language. 27% of students at our school receive special education services. My students respect each other and work well together. They are motivated, artistic and it's a joy to watch them follow their interests in the library.

My Project

My wonderful students in Computer Club need supplies to create stop motion animation films. Every Wednesday, we meet after school and students work on self-directed projects. Many of my students have expressed interest in stop motion animation. They've watched how-to videos and scripted their movies, and are hoping to get supplies to be able to start the filming soon!

They are a curious bunch of self-directed learners and thrive on independent challenges.

This project will make a difference in the lives of my students by giving them the tools they desire to follow their passions.

We hope to show our stop-motion animation films to the entire school during the yearly Shine The Light Festival which celebrates the creativity and talent of our students.
