My Project

As a first year Culinary Arts teacher I am developing a curriculum and would benefit greatly from access to resources on Teachers Pay Teachers. My students are extremely resilient, many of them are homeless, young mothers or go home and are in fear due to gun violence. My goal is to create a class that brings joy in their day while also teaching practical skills like how to budget a meal for their family. The expert and engaging materials on TPT will help me develop a well rounded curriculum and will have more time to give my students what they really need: one-on-one care and attention.

In Northeast Philadelphia, my students are used to getting the short end of the stick.

I don't want that to be the case in my classroom. Currently we have stools that rip your pants and our oven/stove is completely broken. We have been working with hot plates and toaster ovens but are lacking the correct size pans. These materials wont just serve these kids now but the skills they learn using them will serve them exponentially in their future. My heart is filled with gratitude, thank you for your support of these students.
