Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have shown incredible growth this year in first grade and I couldn't be more proud of them! With the help of Donors Choose sponsors and our limited classroom funds (as well as my contribution) we have been so lucky to have what we have needed until the last few months of the year!
These supplies will support my students in finishing off the year successfully and guide them into the next year as they become confident second graders and as I welcome a new class full of firsties!
We are almost completely out of glue sticks, will need paint and colored ink for photos for their Mother's Day projects, as well as several other supplies to support their end of the year cumulative community grade level project! The bins and folders will support them in independently organizing their new supplies, gel pens used in VIP for outstanding behavior recognition, sponges for their whiteboards to support end of the year spelling, as well as some supplies to keep us healthy until the end- like wipes! A few of our headphones have broken, understandably, throughout this year and some new ones will be put to great use! The black felt tip pens allow my writers to gain ownership and feel like official authors after completing longer writing tasks like they will do as they publish their research project at the end of the year. These supplies can foster independence, leadership, academic success, and ownership of their learning!
