My Project

My students need these items to experience the reality of science - how it looks and feels in the classroom and lab.

The first priority in my classroom is to put materials in each child's hand so they can experience as much scientific equipment as possible and YOUR donation will help add measurement tools (a triple beam balance AND *6* Digital Calipers) to our classroom!

I have seen through experience how manipulating specialized equipment can boost the confidence of boys and girls in the math and science areas. They realize, "Hey, that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be." IMMEDIATELY they are physically attached to what they are trying to learn, know that THEY can manipulate it and can SEE themselves using it in a future career.

Measurement tools items will help to allow me to bring science to life for students and will be used to teach standards that further their applied learning to these concepts. It will give them the ability for real time analysis and application of learning. Science will become a hands-on, real-life, applicable learning experience that can be, immediately, applied to real life and future career paths.
