Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how curious, creative, and resilient my students are. They bring different ideas, experiences, and perspectives to our classroom, and I want to make sure they have the resources they need to feel confident, prepared, and ready to learn.

The magnetic whiteboards and graph paper will help us create a Thinking Classroom where students can work together, discuss ideas, and make their mathematical thinking visible.

Students will be able to collaborate on problems, explain their reasoning, learn from one another, and see different approaches to solving the same problem.

The loose-leaf paper and binders will help students stay organized as we transition from primarily online assignments to more paper-based learning. Students will have a dedicated place to keep their notes, classwork, practice problems, and completed assignments, allowing them to easily review their work and recognize their progress throughout the year.

The sanitary towels will provide an important resource for students who may not have reliable access to menstrual hygiene products. Having these supplies available at school will help ensure that girls do not have to miss class or feel distracted or embarrassed because they do not have the products they need. Every student deserves to feel comfortable, supported, and ready to learn.

Together, these resources will help create a classroom where students can **think together, stay organized, feel supported, and focus on learning.**
