This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you stepped inside a kindergarten classroom lately? The Kindergarten curriculum has changed a lot in the last ten years. The standards are more rigorous. A tablet is the perfect tool to motivate students who are struggling and will enhance further growth for those who are on grade level.

I have 23 bright and very inquisitive Kindergarten students who are excited about learning everyday.

Most of my students come from low economic backgrounds and receive a free or reduced lunch. Half of my students are Second Language Learners and this is their first experience in a school setting. Although my school is making great gains in acquiring technology, we are still far behind other schools in our area.

My Project

Another tablet in the classroom would allow me reach more students in individual and whole group settings. The tablet would be used in small group instruction to teach letters, sounds, and number recognition. I would also be able to use the tablet to download Science applications. Students would be able to visually grasp Earth, Life, and Physical Science concepts. Learning Science through the use of technology will be so much fun! I am also requesting 2 screen guards, 5 iPad sleeves, and 1 data adapter to be used with some of our other classroom technology.

The Samsung tablet will help me deliver stimulating academic lessons to my current and future Kindergarten students.
