Ms. Pippens from Dallas TX is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
See what Ms. Pippens is requestingMy students need a color printer to have access to color copies. Research shows how color attracts learners and help them retain information. Having color copies will enhance my students' interactive journal quest and aid in boosting memory of concepts.

My school has a high rate of at risk students. The objective of the integrated technology project is to help all students with poor skills learn at grade level, increase their comprehension, and use of technology. Properly used, technology will help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based economy.
Technology is ubiquitous, playing a momentous factor in everyday life, but my classroom is not equipped with these devices.
I have been teaching for twelve years and it seems as if poor schools with underprivileged kids have awful technology. This year, I want to even the “learning field” and provide my students with equal opportunities. I want to help move students, the school, and the community in a positive direction by addressing the needs of the at risk students, and prepare students for their 21st Century, but it seems as if my class is preparing them for our 20th century. Integrating technology into my classroom means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class. Integrating technology in science will enhance the learning process and enrich student rigor.
The learning environment plays a significant role in student achievement and available resources are the foundation to expanding students’ horizons. Utilizing color copies will aid in student comprehension and retention. We need your help with stimulating scientific concepts through color because effective instruction makes the most difference in student academic performance.
The printer and ink will be used by the students and I, so that we may enhance instruction.
To explain, the majority of my students are considered "at-risk ", and I want my students to achieve at the same rate as non-at risk students. Technology is today and I want to implement it inside of my classroom. As a result, students would become better equipped for their future and learning would be more valuable. Technology is all around the world. Why not implement it inside the classroom?
