This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The StudioJays@Mangum and the concept of creating an art studio mindset in the art room has grown so much in the last year in half. No one on our campus says we are going to "art room" anymore, instead we say, "We are going to the studio to make and create wonderful things." Last year we created "Le Paint Bar" and this concept really allowed students a freedom and independence in studio. This year we want to creat a still life lab with track lighting to create dramatic light to creat value, shadows and highlights. We also want to have view finders from Dick Blick Art Supplies to help students with framing their compositions and make them better.

The Still Life Lab will used to help students create authentic artworks from their own observations and experiences.

The culminating works of art will be catalogued for our school's annual art exhibition in May of 2023.

The studio experience at school will give students the opportunity to really feel what it feels like to make art in the enviroment that real world. See you at the exhibition this spring!
