I coach a High School Varsity lacrosse team. The players are an amazing group of very diverse young women from all walks of life that range from 9th to 12th grade. They have a high collective GPA, many take multiple AP, dual credit and/or honors classes, and are heavily involved in campus and community service programs.
This past season, I had 3 players honored as Academic All-Americans and 1 valedictorian.
They are also very involved in extracurricular activities like Robotics, Science Research, National Honor Society and MUN. These young ladies are going places, and I feel playing lacrosse is a great opportunity for our students to grow as young women.
My Project
This project will provide student-athletes who have never played lacrosse before with a chance to catch and throw a lacrosse ball, and to see how fun the game is to play, and to see if this is a sport they want to continue to play, without first having to purchase expensive equipment.
Your donations will ensure our girl's Lacrosse team has additional sticks so that those who can't afford a stick, or haven't yet purchased a stick, can have one to practice and play with.
It also gives players the opportunity to test out different sticks to see which one works the best for them. Then, when they have the opportunity or choose to purchase a stick of their own, they become informed consumers.
