Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our district adopted a brand new ELA curriculum, and our students are going through post-its like there's no tomorrow! Summer of the Mariposas, Omnivore's Dilemma, Maus, and Farewell to Manzanar are our anchor texts, and we are diving into McCall's "Magical Mexican retelling of The Odyssey" presently.

We are reading whole class novels, and Post-Its enable kids to quickly and efficiently hold onto their thinking directly in the books themselves.

Though I wish to this day I'd have invented the sticky note, I'm glad someone did. Post-Its are just cost-prohibitive enough to need some funding help for the hundreds we need, and I assure you they will be put to good use!
