This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever wondered how to help others and make a difference? My students show other students how to get involved by organizing, advertising, and running school and community events.

Students in the ASB program plan community service events including five blood drives each school year with the American Red Cross, a school-wide canned food drive with the Salvation Army, and support Pasta for Pennies benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Our students donate their time, hard work, enthusiasm, and blood each year but they need resources like painters tape to stick to their school and community service goals!

My Project

Painters tape is an essential need for our students. At school students may only use painters tape to hang posters to advertise and promote events since painters tape will not damage the paint on walls, buildings, and outside surfaces. We want to treat our community with the same care and leave everything better than we found it. Painters tape will help us to do just that. In order to help students get involved, we need to advertise. In order to advertise, we need painters tape. In ASB, we believe that students want to make a difference and help others- our job is to create opportunities and let them know how to get involved!

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "The greatest gift is a portion of thyself." A donation of painters tape to our ASB class helps us to give back some of ourselves to our school, important causes, and the larger community which connects us all.

What makes our ASB class special is that through all of our work together, we feel like a family. What makes family special is that they care about and take care of one another. We hope that you will join in helping others and join our family.
