The mission of our school is to provide a whole school community that strives to challenge students and enrich the learning process through our seven core values. Here, we dedicate each day to achieving high academic standards and developing character. We support and nurture the whole child, and we work tirelessly to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to succeed and become productive members of a global society.
Within the last two years, several of the smaller schools in our district have closed and consolidated in order to combat the declining population and budget restraints.
Prior to the consolidation, there were four high schools. Currently, there are only two public high schools in our district, and residents now identify themselves based on their affiliation with a school. The consolidation of the schools has resulted in an interlinking and continuous fellowship among the residents within the county.
Our school library is in need of a major upgrade. One of the major issues is the old and outdated carpet that greets the students and faculty each day. Our carpet has not been replaced in years. It is an old gold color that wreaks of years of wear, tear, and heavy traffic. Not only is it discolored, it is also unraveling and unsafe.
We are seeking to upgrade the facility with a more inviting decorum that students can enjoy for years to come.
The carpet will hopefully be installed while students and faculty are on break. When they return they will begin the new year with not only fresh minds and and enthusiasm, but also with a newly carpeted library to welcome them back.
