My Students

My preschool special education class is full of wee-little learners that have curious minds, little bodies full of energy, and an eagerness to explore their learning environment!

Our class consists of 11 children with developmental delays, speech delays, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Our wee-little learners thrive learning through play and sensory exploration. Our class is diverse, and individuality is embraced. Our class is comprised of 5 African American students, 4 Caucasian students, and 2 Hispanic.

My Project

Our students love to learn through sensory experiences. The children have been actively using the sensory climber during gross motor and movement time. The students love to take their shoes off while climbing and most of the day during preschool. I was inspired to find more ways the children can learn without their shoes on! The orthopedic massage floor mat puzzle pieces are the perfect solution.

Barefoot sensory walks in our classroom will help the students develop motor skills, balance, and spatial awareness.

Our students love to explore through their senses, especially through movement and tactile experiences. By providing many different mediums we will be able to enrich their learning experiences.
