My Students
Hi...I will be a first year Kindergarten teacher and I am expecting to have 18-24 students in the upcoming school year. I am seeking the help of Donor's Choose to help fund books for my students. I am very excited about the new school year, and all of the learning that will be taking place in my classroom. My goal is to build a high quality library in my classroom this year.
Studies show that reading to children stimulates the part of their brain that allows them to understand the meaning of language, literacy and social skills.

My Project
The materials for this project will build a confident beginner reader. Many children nowadays come into schools ready to learn, ready to work, and ready to read. However, some of our children are not quite ready and need to explore, engage, and become comfortable with picking up a book, and enjoy reading.
The books will be utilized in the classroom at the students' desk to free read.
The students will also be able to take the books home to read with their families. I am looking for donations of any size to help fund my project. Thank you in advance.
