Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students face many challenges no matter the delivery method of instruction, but the hurdles have multiplied and grown larger as we have moved to distance learning. My classes have a high level of special education students as well as English Language Learners. They are driven to overcome these challenges and impress me with their drive and dedication.
My Project
My students often struggle with the math that is integral to learning science. In the classroom, I am able to make use of whiteboards for students to follow along as I work through the problems until they are confident enough to try them on their own. This is difficult in a remote learning environment since my lessons are delivered asynchronously.
The Microsoft Surface Book would allow me to easy write on the screen for students to follow along with as they attempted problems from home.
This would also allow me to share my screen during Zoom calls and write out or draw instructions to support my kids.
