STEMS Project Fun in Our Kindergarten Classroom

My students need K'NEX, magnetic blocks, construction blocks, and engineering blocks to complete more STEMS projects.

My Students

Kindergarten can be a fun and exciting year, but it is also a year filled with lots of learning. My students enter my classroom every day ready to learn something new. They love to participate in hands-on activities to deepen their understanding.

The students in my classroom come from all ranges of backgrounds.

My classroom is full of all different races and ethnicities including a few ESL students. Many of my students in my classroom come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and therefore, cannot afford the most basic of needs for school. But their ethnicity or background does not matter when it comes to learning. My students enter my classroom every day ready to learn something new!

My Project

I would like to incorporate more STEM projects in my classroom. These STEM projects will foster more student lead learning projects while adding more critical thinking skills. In addition, it would increase their team building skills as they work together on projects too .

Our classroom is in need of STEM materials to help increase our problem solving skills and explore more projects outside of worksheets and textbooks.

The Magnetic Blocks, construction blocks, engineering blocks, and K'NEX will allow my students to be creative in building and creating different projects. We can use them throughout the year with different themes. For example, the student could construct a bridge for the three billy goats to align with the book, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Or they could try building a snowman to align with our winter theme. The possibilities are endless with all these STEMs sets. I can't wait to see how creative my students will become with these new materials.
