We are located in a small farming community in rural Indiana.
Our school is filled with hard working students, and students that want to learn and are hard workers!
We are a cluster team of two teachers and 40 students that consists of two first grade classrooms. Our students come from a wide range of economic backgrounds. We also have a wide range of academic abilities. Our students are different in many ways but they have one thing in common: their love for learning!
My Project
My students LOVE STEM time. It is one of the things that they look forward to each week. This project is requesting Fairytale STEM lessons. Our goal is to tie STEM with literature. They then will be asked to solve the problem, with hands-on materials, from fairytales they are familiar with. For example, they will have to figure out how to build the ladder to help get Rapunzel down from her tower or a house strong enough that the wolf can’t blow down.
Please help me get these amazing STEM lessons into my sweet first graders hands.
