My students need non-fiction books on STEM topics to engage and inspire my reluctant readers.

My Students

I teach third grade at a diverse, Title I school in Southwest Florida. Our students come from numerous cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are an "A" school and one of 27 schools chosen by The Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (ECTAC) for "Exceeding Expectations." Through lots of hard work, our school continues to help our students succeed.

I encourage lots of independent reading time in my classroom, and I expect my students to read from a range of genres.

My students especially love to read non-fiction!

My Project

For this project, I am requesting non-fiction books about STEM topics to add to our classroom library. These books are at a perfect grade level to make them accessible to my students. These books include topics such as STEM careers, coding, and other technologies that are relevant to my students. My students love to read non-fiction, and I need a greater variety of this genre to keep their interest!

I hope that having access to these books provides my students with the ability to learn more about all of the different things in their lives that are impacted by STEM!
