My Students

My students are so creative, responsible and curious. In our classroom, we are loving learning through STEAM. I've been inspired by their excitement over our experiments, our inventions, our investigations, and our artistic creations. Now I want to let them experience the connection between reading and STEAM with these awesome read aloud books.

Our school is part of a small, rural community.

We have students who know each other from church, from sports teams, from playing at the park, and because their families have known each other forever. I love the supportive nature of these kids. They cheer on each other's success and strive to do as well themselves.

My Project

My students are in love with STEAM activities. I want to help them understand the connection between books and STEAM. These books will tie in nicely to the STEAM activities I have planned. The students can read the stories to themselves or I can read to the group, and then we can be inspired to be architects, scientists, engineers or artists.

Students who are curious are motivated to keep learning.

The hands-on activities inspired by these read alouds will allow the kids to explore science and art. They will help teach the students that STEAM should be fun, but it also requires serious focus to be done properly.

The light filters will help create a calmer learning environment in our classroom as we read and explore.
